Museums in Taiwan

Taiwan has more than four hundred museums. These range from the world-famous National Palace Museum on down to smaller regional museums which together provide comprehensive coverage of our national culture. Given the nation's relatively recent economic growth and political liberalization, most of the nation's museums were erected during the past two decades. Today there are national museums, university museums, and public and private museums covering a total of eighteen themes including fine arts, contemporary art, history, archaeology, anthropology, natural history, science & technology, arts & crafts, industry, memorials, religion, theater, literature, music, the university, and so forth. Programs, Exhibitions and Performances

During the conference, a number of Taiwan’s museums will be hosting special exhibits and participants are very welcome to visit these. Participants will enjoy a series of events and performances reflecting the dynamism of Taiwan’s three principle cultures: Austronesian culture, Chinese culture, and modern art.  From the welcoming banquet on through to the farewell party, we have arranged for groups to give a range of performances daily to illustrate the essence of several Taiwanese cultures and their past traditions, contemporary forms, and developmental future.  You will experience the dynamism of Taiwan’s cultural heritage through performances of the Chinese classics, folk music, and aboriginal dance.
