| Museums in Taiwan
Taiwan has more than four hundred museums. These range from the world-famous National Palace Museum on down to smaller regional museums which together provide comprehensive coverage of our national culture. Given the nation's relatively recent economic growth and political liberalization, most of the nation's museums were erected during the past two decades. Today there are national museums, university museums, and public and private museums covering a total of eighteen themes including fine arts, contemporary art, history, archaeology, anthropology, natural history, science & technology, arts & crafts, industry, memorials, religion, theater, literature, music, the university, and so forth.
